Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb is a dry twigs of T. ramosissima, which is a traditional Chinese medicine has been used as an important crude drug against measles, fever, urticaria, rheumatic pain, sprains.Objects: To research the system of chemical components and pharmacological effects, and find the active ingredients or new uses. Methods: We used T. ramosissima as material, and studied the chemical constituents and bioactivities of T. ramosissima. The main contents of our study are as following these aspects: Bioactivity guided isolation of anti-inflammatory fractions and was undertaken by various chromatographic methods. The investigation on analgesic activity of the extract from T. ramosissima was conducted. The antioxidant properties of different polarity fractions extracted from T. ramosissima were evaluated using DPPH radical scavenging test and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity test. The acetic ether extract of T. ramosissima administrate to skin-wounded mice by gavage methods.Results:1,Bioactivity guided isolation of anti-inflammatory fractions and was undertaken by various chromatographic methods. The active fraction-acetic ether fraction (ACT) was obtained from T. ramosissima.13 known compounds were isolated from the active fraction, and the structures of 8 compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic methods. They are: Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, methylvanillate, methylparaben, 7, 4′-dimethoxykaemferol, Methyl syringate, eugenol, vanillin, Ferulic acid.2,Effect of extracts of Tamarix ramosissima and fractions on ear edema induced by dimethylbenzene in mice, the percentages of inflammation inhibition were obtained respectively: 30.55%(ET),55.74%(PET),37.96%(ACT),22.98%(BT),21.87%(WT). The investigation on analgesic activity of the extract from T. ramosissima was conducted, the percentages of analgesic inhibition were obtained respectively: 29.51%(ET),34.75%(ACT),23.28%(BT), 6.56%(WT). The antioxidant properties of different polarity fractions extracted from T. ramosissima were evaluated using DPPH radical scavenging test and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity test. EC50 of Radical scavenging in the acetic ether fraction of T. ramosissima is 26.4μg/mL,and the percentages of Superoxide anion free radical scavenging is 62.7%. Radical scavenging activities and Superoxide anion free radical scavenging activities of eugenol were enhanced increasingly by the concentrations increased, which under the doeages of 0.04mg/ml and 0.12mg/ml, respectively. 3 experimental groups in differents dosages had significant difference ,compared to the control group ,with the areas of wound healing 17.68 mm2 17.90 mm2 20.18 mm2 and 31.48 mm2 ,after the acetic ether extract of T. ramosissima administrate to skin-wounded mice by gavage methods. Conclusions: Among them, 7 compounds were isolated from this species for the first time.It was found that the acetic ether fraction of T. ramosissima showed the highest antioxidant activity, compared to other fractions. It was found that the acetic ether and n-butanol fractions showed the better analgesic activity, compared to other fractions. It was found that the acetic ether fraction and eugenol showed the highest antioxidant activity. It was found that the capillaries and fibroblasts in the experimental group were markedly increased, and inflammation reduced. It was suggested that the acetic ether extract of T. ramosissima some protective effects on improving the wound healing .
