| Objective:To study the clinical features of coronary artery disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients with suspected coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods:385 hospitalized patients with clinically suspected coronary artery disease were selected to undergo coronary angiography by Judkins' technique. According to whether or not patients had diabetes, these patients were divided into two groups: those with type 2 diabetes mellitus (n = 109) and those without type 2 diabetes mellitus (n =276).Both the general clinical features and angiographic characteristics in two groups were analyzed. Results:The incidence of hypertension was significantly higher in the DM group (80.73%) than those in the non-DM group (69.20%) (P<0.05). Plasma triglycerides level was higher in DM group (2.07±1.68 mmol/L)than that in non-DM group(1.59±0.90 mmol/L) (P<0.05). There were no difference in total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) between two groups (P>0.05). The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was significantly decreased in DM group (0.57±0.10 mmol/L) compared with that in non-DM group (0.60±0.10 mmol/L) (P<0.05). Compared with patients in non-DM group, the patients in DM group had more multi-vascular lesions and more severe vascular disease. Right coronary artery lesion was more common in DM group. Conclusion:Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with coronary heart disease have more severe and extensive coronary lesions. |
