Objective: To study the therapeutic effect of microwave ablation(MA)combined with injection of 5-fluorourac (5-FU) in mice bearing transplanted colon carcinoma. Methods: A Balb/c mice model inoculated with CT26 cells was established. There are four groups:group with PBS injection, group with MA, group with injection of 5-FU and group with MA combined with injection of 5-FU. The tumor volume changes; The duration and living conditions of Balb/c mice were observed; Peripheral serum levels of TNF alpha, IL-2, IL-12 and IFN-gamma were detected by ELISA. Results: tumor sizes showed that tumor treated with MA plus injection of 5-FU [(0.11+0.03)d ]significantly decreased compared with the other three groups (P<0.05). Peripheral serum levels of TNF alpha(180.3±35.9)pg/mL, IL-2 (72.5±6.8) pg/mL, IL-12 (302.3±69.6) pg/mL, IFN-gamma (68.4±8.2) pg/mL in combination therapy group were significantly higher than those in the other three groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: MA combined with 5-FU can improve anti-tumor effect by strengthening immunological FU nction and reducing local recurrences. |
