| AIMTo detect the expression of RASSF1A gene and RUNX3 gene in gastric cancer tissues, their adjacent tissues and in chronic superficial gastritis by immunohistochemistry and to study the clinical significance in cancer diagnosis and treatment.METHODSImmunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of RASSF1A and RUNX3 in 48 gastric cancer patients and 42 chronic superficial gastritis. The patients was classified by age, gender, degree of differentiation, TNM stages and lymph node metastasis. Analyse the relationship between the expression of RASSF1A and RUNX3 and clinical pathological features.RESULTS(1) The positive rate of RASSF1A was 58.3% in gastric cancer, and 100% in the control group. The expression of RASSF1A in gastric cancer was significantly lower than that in control group(p<0.05). We found the expression of RASSF1A was associated with the degree of tumor differentiation and TNM stages(p<0.05), had no relationship with the age, the gender, and lymph node metastasis.(2) The positive rate of RUNX3 was 52.1% in gastric cancer, and 97.6% in the control group. The expression of RASSF1A in gastric cancer was significantly lower than that in control group(p<0.05). We found the expression of RUNX3 was associated with the degree of tumor differentiation, TNM stages, lymph node metastasis (p<0.05), had no relationship with the age, the gender.CONCLUSIONRASSF1A and RUNX3 were low expressed in gastric cancer, they were significantly associated with the occurring and the developing of gastric cancer, RUNX3 may take part in the lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer determination of RASSF1A and RUNX3 may be value of early diagnosis and prognosis. |
