Objective①To investigate the relationship between Thr92Ala polymorphism of type 2 deiodinase and hyperthyroidism(HT) and hyperthyroid heart disease(HHD) in Han population from North of China.②To explore the characters of clinical data in the patients with hyperthyroid heart disease(HHD).Methods①79 patients with hyperthyroid heart disease (HHD),80 patients with hyperthyroidism (HT),80 patients with heart disease (HD, excluding the patients suffering from HHD), and 81 healthy controls(CON) were studied. The genotype and allele frequencies were assayed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).②57 patients with HHD,80 patients with hyperthyroidism in our hospital from October 2009 to May 2010 were studied. The clinical data were analysed by statistical software in all of the patients.Results①The distributions and frequencies of AG+GG genotype were higher in HHD group than those in HT group, HD group and CON group, but there was no statistical significance; The frequency of G allele was higher in HHD group than that in CON group, HD group and HT group, but there was no statistical significance.②Among the cardiac insufficiency(14 cases, accounting for 24.6%), the main kind was right heart insufficiency(11 cases), which accounted for 19.3%. According to the cardiac function standard of New York Heart Association,5 patients, all of whom were all right heart insufficiency graded III. The most common arrhythmia in patients with HHD was atrial fibrillation(44 cases), which occupied 77.2%. The main cause of HHD was diffuse toxic goiter(41cases), which occupied 71.9%, and the second was Hashimoto's disease(11 cases), which occupied 19.3%. In comparison with hyperthyroidism, the patients with HHD had the features of older, longer course of disease, higher FT4, lower TSH, and there was statistical significance(F=4.872~19.852, P<0.05).Conclusion①The data didn't showed the obvious relationship between Thr92Ala polymorphism of type 2 deiodinase and hyperthyroidism as well as hyperthyroid heart disease in Han population from North of China.②The data showed that the patients suffering from hyperthyroidism with older, longer course of disease, higher FT4, lower TSH and diffuse toxic goiter were more likely to suffer from cardiac diseases. Moreover, right heart insufficiency and atrial fibrillation was the most common.
