| In 1960, Art College in Hunan Normal University started watercolor painting course, which has been developed for nearly half a century till now. A system of watercolor painting teaching was improved and built by the hard work of teachers during these 50 years and a large number of outstanding watercolor painting talents were cultivated who were transported all over Hunan province and even across the country laying the foundation of the education of watercolors in Hunan and even the whole country.Landscape painting, whose aim is to let students systematically grasp the development history of the watercolor in and out of the country and master some basic theory and rules of the watercolor, is one of the contents taught in watercolor painting. In the landscape painting course, teachers stimulate students to explore and utilize creative languages and sketches of watercolor landscape. While trying to maintain the charm of traditional watercolor art, they also try to improve and innovate themselves by learning from other arts. Both theory and practice are emphasized in the course. At last, an unique style is formed. That is theory mingled with practice, tradition mingled with innovation, and student-oriented mingled with teacher-oriented. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. The first part dates back to the beginning of watercolor painting course of the Art College in Hunan Normal University and deals with the strict integrity of characteristics of landscape watercolor painting. In the second part, the author tries to analyze how the characteristics of landscape watercolor painting in Hunan Normal University come into being and their achievements by expounding their teaching staff and teaching contents. In the last part, the author looks forward to the future of the landscape watercolor painting of Hunan Normal University by elaborating their achievements and existing deficiencies, the enrichment improvement development and application of their characteristic. |
