Neo-confucianism's "Qi Xiang" And Its Poetry School In Song Dynasty

"Qixiang"of neo-confucianism is the product of confucian scholars'idealization of human spirit .It is based on the ontological of the noumenon of world and morality , and usually used as ethical category by scientists in Song dynasty. And its core values is the pursuit of saints'style。Numorous confucian scholars''participation in poetry creation makes"Qixiang"aesthetics further develop its function in art aesthetics field, and the creation of neo-confucianism school poets is featured by poets'pursuit of"Qixiang"。This essay discusses"Qixiang"theory's impact on the creation of the neo-confucianism school poetry by analysing the concrete works of confucian scholars'poets, and further find the development and changes of its connotation during application to aesthetic field. This paper is divided into three parts:Part one: the writer will philosophically analyze the philosophical foundation of"Qixiang",clearify the connection between'qi'and'xiang'(both in philosophical level) and the ethical concept of "the nature of temperament". Also, the application of"Qixiang"to aesthetic activities results in the concept of beauty in personality, nature and art ,which will also be discussed; aesthetics concept will be clearified.Part two: peotry creation of Confucianism poetry school will be analyzed to probe into the concrete influence of"Qixiang"on aesthetic aspect, which will be discussed from three aspects ; first, the personality and spirit of the authors': sincerity of moral character cultivation, observation of mind and the emotional attitude of reasoning dominated. Second, the expressiveness of"Qixiang"in the content of poems; the application of"Yanzeng qixiang"is mainly displayed in travel and descritive works. The purpose of conveying reason ,not forgetting aesthetic meaning , is the express of Taonism. And confucianism's actively'out'and paying close attention to the society are displayed by narrative and lyric poetry.Part three: poetry diction style, scienctists emphasise self experience and pay much attention to improvisation rather than the overcareful choice of words. Poetry style tends to be natural , adhering to the tender and honest style of confucian poetry tradition, and the language is usually neutral. Part three: the emphatical analyse of three main images of science school poetry :spring is the show of saints'good spirit , the"Qixiang"of loving life, the aesthetic spirit of enjoying life. From the observation of spring , also feel the way of studying and reasoning. Plum blossoms, as the subject of studying the phenomena of natue, represent toughness and pureness and are the embodiment of neo-confucian spirit.'qin'image(in some ways similar to the zither) is also the representation of confucian scholars'cultivation of mind. In a word the poetry of confucian poetry school is greatly influenced by"Qixiang"theory. Meanwhile ,it makes the abstract theory more concrete and enriches its connotation.
