Based on fieldwork, this research studies Ethnic Bai Tone in Shilong village, which is famous as "Bai Tone village", in Jianchuan county, and focuses on the form, the pattern of transmission and status quo. Then I analyze the existing problems in its development and propose feasible suggestions.In the introduction, I introduce the origins and significance of the topic, research methodology, literature review, and summary about the cultural background. The body of the thesis would be divided into three parts.The chapter 1 depicts and analyses the features of the form of Bai Tone in Shilong village. I analyze and descript it from the perspective of lyrics Features, tunes feature, lyrics relations and concert (played) Features.The chapter 2 summarizes and describes the transmission pattern of Bai tone. From the perspective of transmission, I examined transmission patterns, subjects and processes. Furthermore, I concluded five transmission methods:natural transmission, apprenticeship transmission, familial transmission, school transmission, and training class transmission. At the same time, I discussed the influences of people on the transmission pattern and then propose the five stages of the transmission of Bai Tone: listen, remember, practice, check and perform.The chapter 3 describes the development of Bai Tone in Shilong village. First of all, the author analyzes development factors of Bai Tone in Shilong village from the economic and cultural aspects. Secondly, the author outlines the development of Bai Tone, and think that its development has shown increased enthusiasm for learning and growing singing groups; track innovation and great concert form; diverse means of communication to meet the times; development space to expand and significant advantages of singer; raising consciousness of cultural preservation and enhancing "Cultural Consciousness" concept. thirdly, the author stressed the development of Bai Tone in Shilong village to think, summed up the current problems:the reasons for constraints of learning and transmission of Bai Tone are complex; 15-30 age group who will sing the Bai Tone, good singer, female singer, new singer, the people of production and playing three-stringed lute are few; Bai Tune is not enough to actively create a new track; the performing opportunities of singers are not a lot; lack of protection of the interests of artists. Finally, the author also put forward for the Development of the feasible proposals.
