Every has to experience the transmigration of life. The stage which from birth to adult are beginning and key. The initiation stories that reflect the growth of the teenagers are not only one of the mature type of the west's novels but also the new type of Chinese novels. This dissertation study the develop and change of the consciousness about growth,the initiation stories from the 20th century of China. In order to deepen the research in the past and be good for the research in the future.This dissertation falls into five parts. The first part is introduction. This part include the reason and the meaning of the study, the summarization of the research, the train of thought of the study and main methords, the definition of the major conception. The second part and the third part and the fourth part are main parts. Thses parts include the detailed analysis about the development of the initiation stories from the 20th century of China. The development of the initiation stories has three periods that are preparation period and beginning period and flourishing period. The second part is the unconscious consciousness of the growth. This part analyze the novels of modern literature about the growth. The third part is the growth in the fight of the social class. This part analyze the initiation stories of inland and the initiation stories of Taiwan from 1949.The fourth part is the flourishing development of the initiation stories. This part analyze about the initiation stories from the new period. These stories include three types that are positive initiation stories and negative initiation stories and preparing initiation stories. One of the three types is main and exist the else types in one period. This part include background and narrative pattern and esthetic significance. The last part is conclusion. This part reaffirm the thesis and summarize the dissertation and analyze the problem of the initiation stories. The new ideas are the classification and explanation of the three types of the initiation stories.
