Glorious Tang dynasty attracted many scholars to study. Especially on the "Emperor Taizong of Tang and Buddhism", there were a lot of discussions on the subject. This paper summarized the results of previous studies based on the absorption, from the time of objective political, economic and social situation of departure, considering the two aspects relevant historical materials of Li Shimin and Buddhism, to do realistic analysis to map between the two more accurate overview of Relationship. First, I reviewed the previous research on the subject, and made a brief analysis, followed by general Sui and Tang dynasties, especially in the Emperor Gaozu and Taizong of Tang period, Buddhism and the rulers of the exchange situation, and revealed the real relationship between the two. Then directly around the relationship between the Emperor and Buddhist I discussed the central issues. By means of describing the experience and the performance of governing the country and around the idea of faith in Secretary of State, indicating that the ruling emperor of Buddhist ideas and knowledge and attitude, that focus on how to maintain rule of Li Shimin, the efforts to achieve long-term stability, I summed up that Li Shimin has a firm, Pragmatic, flexible governing style. Then, from the Buddhist, the focus on the top from the Buddhist belief in the masses of the rulers and the general level of enthusiasm, into the Buddhist theory of system of continuous improvement factions, secular sermons of the deepening of close contact such as the efforts of the upper rule section, and selected a great influence being the "Fa Lin incident" and Xuan Zang, as typical examples to their monks and the extensive influence all walks of life and their own deeds, to prove that Buddhists consciously take the initiative to expand the living space of wisdom. Then I explained that the Buddhists were strong, were eligible to be used, it's also consciously use rulers to protect themselves, to strengthen ourselves. Finally, I concluded that the relationship between the Emperor and Buddhist is mutual adaptation, mutual advantage, and highlighted the emperor, while the use of Buddhism, Buddhists also actively use the ruler to consolidate, develop its own power, the pursuit of continuous transmission. Moreover, this process was not a passive or active to please, but dealt with gently, in turn, using the other.
