The Analysis Of The Strategies Used In Characters-creation And Narrative Within The Movie And Television Play

The first part of this paper is an introduction. Based on the correspondent research results of both foreign and domestic academics as well as following the course of China's own film and television progression, I am able to given a high level analysis of their characters according to each stage of the development. I have also listed the background of each research subjects and clearly stated the purpose of the study and the thought process. Finally I have also described the main research methods to be used for this research paper.The second part of the paper broken down the research element into the following elements, they are: narrative vs. characters creation, sound and picture, the art of combining time and space. With the understanding the characteristics of these basic art creation elements, I am able to clearly define the relationship between the narrative and character creation within the film and television plays.The third part discusses fact of a good character creation approach enriches the narrative. At the same time the narrative determines the direction of how characters are to be created. Based on this, I dive deep into the discussion of character creation tools specifically used in film and television such as: scene creation and design, lighting, color, shooting angles, visual composition, sounds and other elements. I am not only simply defining and categorizing these tools. I have also combined with a large number of examples in the discussion. Further more I also discussed the roles these tools plays during narrative. I have also discussed different narrative strategies used by each plays.The fourth part of the paper gives an overview of the main body of narrative, characters, story, plot, and the basic definition of the event and their roles in the TV and film play. The discussions further solidified the argument of combining the narrative along with the character creation is a good strategy in presenting a consistent story line in film and TV plays.The final part of the paper summarizes the results of this study and discussed, forming a conclusion and point out the inadequacies of the study.
