The Study On Fan Zhongyan's Poetry

Fan Zhongyan is an outstanding politician, strategist, educator, and litterateur in Chinese history. Regarding the famous official in Bei Song Dynasty, researchers are actually few to his poetry attention. This paper takes Fan Zhongyan's Poetry as the research object, mainly from the Poetry theory,the content of his Poetry, art characteristic and function which played during the development of Song Poetry.Chapter 1, This part mainly introduces Fan Zhongyan's Poetry theory. It devides Fan Zhongyan's Poetry theory into four parts:Theory of "Qi" in Poetry, The view on poetry education, Complementarity of content and form and style theory. It Particularly, Focuses upon the thoughts of "complementarity of content and form" which has Positive significance On the development of poetry in Song Dynasty.Chapter 2, This part mainly discusses the contents of Fan Zhongyan's poems.his poetry is rich in content,and has diverse forms, According to the content, Fan Zhongyan's poesy can be divided into four parts to analyze:he expersses the political ideals which virtuous emperor and minister, prosperous country and peaceful people; worrying about the life of the current people; optimistic spirit to the landscape feelings and Yongwu Poetry.Chapter 3, This part mainly elaborates artistic style of Fan Zhongyan's poetry. Artistic style of Fan Zhongyan's poetry is diverse,what but outstanding is natural artistic style.The method of takeing prose as poems is used widely in Fan Zhongyan's poetry, Fan Zhongyan likes to use auxiliary word, preposition, essay syntax and prose scheme in the poetry; He specializes argumentation in his poetry,his poetry can combinate lyrical,narrative and comments; in addition, he likes to use the overlap character.In words, Fan Zhongyan's poetry always brings forth new ideas and shows us with quite fresh characteristics. Chapter 4, This part mainly discuses and analyzes the role Fan Zhongyan has play in development of Song poetry. Fan Zhongyan promotes the innovation movement of poems and prose in North Song Dynasty by political forces. His poetry has developed certain space for development of Song poetry in content, theme and artistic style. So,his poetry should not be neglected in the development course of Song Poetry.The last part is Epilogue, it analyse the reason why Fan Zhongyan's poetry is neglected by later generations. He comes in and goes out in the literary world as a statesman, which his Literary talent is covered by.In addition, he is a transition poet and his charaeteristic is not very obvious, easily being neglected by later generations.
