A Study Of Folk Adages In Qi Lu Deng

Modern Chinese is a new discipline, the research of it is relatively weak, especially for that of modern popular literature, so it is very necessary to pay more attention to it. Furthermore, the modern popular literature, as a precious research material, should be taken more seriously. The full-length novel Qi Lu Deng, which is rich in content, and also contents a large amount of folk adages, was written in the critical period of the Chinese evolution in the 18th century. This novel is a reliable corpus for a system and full scale research on the folk adages, so the folk adages study of it will be very helpful not only to expand the research area of Qi Lu Deng, but also to identify its research value. Moreover, that also will be very helpful for people to get a deeper acknowledge of the type, rhetorical features, cultural connotation and the historical role of the folk adages in Qi Lu Deng. The research can also arouse people's attention to the modern folk adages, promote the systematized research of it, and help us to get a better understanding and use of folk adages.This article takes Qi Lu Deng as the research object, fully collected the folk adages in it, in order to provide more luxuriant language material for the study of the modern Chinese folk adages. In this paper, we utilized statistics method, graphical method and descriptive method, and also combines with the analysis by using the union rhetoric, cognition linguistics, and cultural linguistics knowledge. All these works have been done in order to give a full view of the linguistic characteristics of this novel.Despite the instruction, this paper first defined the range of folk adages, dividing it into three types: Yan Yu, Guangyong Yu, and Xiehou Yu. And using exhaustive statistics method and classification describe method to analyze them separately, in order to give a general picture of the folk adages in Qi Lu Deng. And secondly, in the view of traditional and modern rhetoric research, this paper studied the rhetoric by the using of figures of speech method, language and rhetoric method, discussed the using characteristics of the figures of speech, and the chosen of phonetics, vocabulary and Syntax and also discussed the rhetorical function that embodied by them.Under the external culture background, in the terms of combination of language and culture, this paper also tried to make an analysis on the connotation of Material Culture and spiritual culture which revealed from the Qi Lu Deng article.Then, this paper analyzed the law of development and historical position of the folk adages in Qi Lu Deng in the history view, in the method of making a comparison with the previous period, corresponding period and the later period article, and make a summary of the historical position and research value of Qi Lu Deng on the base of the previous study. At last, this paper summarized the research works that have been done, and repeat the historical position and research value of Qi Lu Deng, pointing out the limitations as well as the study field that can be expanded.
