Study On Bashu Ci In Song Dynasty

In Bashu area which is in the Southwest, a special and centuries-old kind of culture always exists. Because of the landform and the hypsography, this kind of culture is very different from that in the centre party of China. In the period of Song Dynasty, there were geography which was preponderant, social environment which was peaceful and stable, agriculture and handicraft industry which developed roundly and came to top of the whole country, economic background which was rich and wealthy. All these brought a great development of the culture. At that time, the literature in Bashu area was prosperous, especially the pomp of Ci, it was conspicuous. The unusual and close geography environment had made a special kind of folkway. This kind of folkway infiltrated through everywhere in the social lives, and finally it touched the spirit, the mentality, the temperament and the character of people, especially the literate ones. The special Bashu regional culture then came into being. Under the influence of the regional culture, some characteristics were typically shown in the creations of the writers from Bashu area in Song Dynasty. They were pride of the hometown, gastronomy in the life, optimistic philosophy, and because of the above, the methods of making friends and intercourse were shown to be the blessing to longevity. These were all the deep marks that the special folkway leaved in the creations of writers from Bashu. Meanwhile, just because of the soakage from the special folkway and the influence from the spirits based on it, the creations of Bashu writers showed some other characteristics in literary aspects. They were diversification of theme, abundance of proverb and two-face of style. In addition, many material objects, such as fairy tales, interesting stories of old people, place names, specialties, folkway and dialect, entered the creations as special elements. As the foil, they all helped to show the strong features in Bashu writers'creations.
