Yuan-Ming period in Chinese history is an important stage for the development of Chinese Phonology, as well as a critical phase of the middle ancient Chinese transiting to modern Chinese. was living right in that period, whose work, Yun Lue Yi Tong is not only valuable in Lan Mao the Ming History of Chinese Phonology, but also a great link that cannot be ignored over the development of Chinese Phonology. The systematic research on the system of Vowels, Consonants and Tones in Yun Lue Yi Tong and further clarifying its phonological distinction characteristics will help us comb out the conditions and progress of Chinese Phonology from the middle ancient times up to early Ming Dynasty. This thesis/paper aims to analyze the phonological distinctions of Easy Access to Phonology by Lan Mao and seek new arguments through systematic analysis of its style and sound and comparing the rhymes in his poetry handed down from one generation to another, contrasting other rhymes of some other contemporary poets from YUNNAN.Through the study of the rhymes in Yun Lue Yi Tong and used by some other poets, we have discovered it clear for the change and process of Chinese speech in the system of Vowels, Consonants and Tones in Yun Lue Yi Tong from the middle ancient times through modern times, which thereby conforms to the general laws of the change of Chinese speech. So is it the same with the rhymes in Lan Mao's poetry, who was a phonologist and poet back in his day.We can always recognize the variant pronunciations in Yunnan dialects today, which are the consistent in Yun Lue Yi Tong. However, all we can say here is some of the YUNNAN phonetics/sounds partially keep the staged characteristics of YUAN-MING Phonetics, besides, Yun Lue Yi Tong by Lan Mao is the right book to record those dialects and Phonetics. Hence, although such consistency can exist, it can not hold water that we simply provide Yun Lue Yi Tong by Lan Mao as proof of Yunnan dialects! From the analysis of Yun Lue Yi Tong by Lan Mao and his poetry, these instances all indicate that Yun Lue Yi Tong by Lan Mao, out of question, was a valuable work for the then promotion of standard Chinese language.
