A Study Of The Miao Lusheng Music Culture In Anji Village Of Yongping

Music performed by Lusheng musical instrument is an important component in Miao ethnical group music;mainly inhabited by Miao and Li ethnical group,Anji village in Yongping,Dali is saturated with Lusheng music cultural variety and specialty.In this paper,chronological reference method was implemented to cite literature.Ethnological field research and real time notation recording were also carried out for the purpose of analyzing implementation of Miao ethnical Lusheng music in Anji village,Yongan and discovering the cultural function and social importance moreover to explore the current situation and difficulty for Lusheng music inheritance.There are four chapters in this paper: the first chapter documented the traditional handcrafting technique,inheriting craftsman and crafting procedures for Lusheng instrument;the musical performance appearance and melodies was also analyzed.In the second chapter,a complete Miao ethnical group funeral process in Anji village was documented in details and the correlation was analyzed which is between the musical style of dirges performed by Lusheng and Miao ethnical group.In the third chapter,the musical culture of a local dancing party named Dage alone with the concerning festival occasions and situations were elaborated;in the four chapter,musical inheritance and protection in Anji village in Yongan were addressed in details.Lusheng musical instrument is greatly intertwined with Miao ethnical group,and it accompanies with daily works and entertainment for the local people.The melodies carry the message between local inhabitants and their long passed away ancestor also bringing enlightenment to their entertainment and social connecting actives by Dage dancing party.As this great coexistence was found in Miao ethnical group daily life,there is no clear boundary between life and music.In the meantime,traditional music in Anji village is facing many great challenges;it takes more academic awareness and analytical discussion to make Lusheng music more enchanting and become everlasting in the musical system for Miao ethnical group.
