The history of oil painting in China was only a hundred years. In the early twentieth century, a large number of Chinese artists went to Europe and Japan to learn oil painting. They brought painting from the West Country to China and combined it with Chinese painting and real life. The way that oil painting became to the major painting form was explored by these artists. Realistic as well as new realistic easel painting was the mainstream of academic teaching all the time. After New China was founded, Chinese oil paintings formed its own distinctive characteristics in the process of nationalization and Chinese oil painters adhered to the road of realistic painting. During the Great Cultural Revolution, the painting of Zhang Wenyi, which serviced for the workers-peasants-soldiers and politics, deviated from the true path of realism; In 1950s and 1960s, Chinese painting was impacted by soviet-style painting; In 1980s, the Chinese painting had a great breakthrough, and directly Chased copy Western painting styles, directly paid attention to human nature and the real life. These became to the strangest voice of the time, especially on behalf of the Luo Zhongli as "Sichuan school" and Chen Danqing as the leader of realistic painting. In the 1990s, Chinese oil painting had a rapid development, and a group of typical new realistic language painters emerged.This thesis made the new realistic language of the painter as a research moment. The realistic painter such as Luo Zhongli, Chen Danqing et al. and the new realistic painter such as Xu Weixin, yuhong, Liu Xiaodong, Xin Dongwang et al. were analyzed researched in detail. Using the methods such as work analysis and compare, historical review, carding, summarizing et al., the author discussed the characteristics, value and importance of oil painting language. The relationship between new realistic painting and realistic painting language was discussed at an aesthetic point of view. We also made a detailed analysis using the Case analysis about the language of the new oil painting of Xin Dongwang. In conclusion---- Painting language has era nature. This was well-founded fight back on "Painting edge theory" and "Painting perish theory", which has a strong practical significance. In addition, it enriched the academic research in related fields and promoted the healthy and orderly development of Chinese painting in certain extent.
