Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry is the most important part of the Poetry of Song Dynasty, and it is not like what Yan Yu said:It is my own thinking and written, and the theory is entirely my own thoughts, without reference to other people's work and never pick up what others say. On the contrary, It's based on the theory of the formers with Yan Yu's self innovation. After the finishing of the book, it is a major impact on the poetic theory of the end of the Southern Song and Yuan Dynasty.Firstly, Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry is under the influence of the theory of the formers. And the theory of the formers is divided into two parts, which are the theory before Song and the theory of Song. The influence from the theory before Song is to recapture the lyricism and the esthetic appreciation. Yan Yu make a further discussion of the essential feature of the poetry aesthetic which is based on the theory of lyricizing being better than literary reference of Zhong Rong. The writings of Remarks on Poetry is very popular in Song, and a large author express thire views about learning poety, poem creation and appreciating poetry though these writtings. Simultaneously, that Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry advocates the way of learning by heart and using elegance expressions to learn and to write poems is the direct effect of the poetic theory of Song. Besides, the background characteristic of Song of Chan Buddhism has produced important effects to it. As to the Neo-Confucianism of the Song, the main influence comes from Zhu Xi who prompts the method of reading again and again and grasping the essence. As to idealistic, Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry receives influence from the requirements of poem aesthetical of Non-germination versus Germination from Bao Hui. As to Chan Buddhism, it prompts awakened which is the same to the thinking of poem creation. And Yan Yu learns from this and propounds the "miraculous enlightment" theory.Secondly, Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry contains many innovative theory which is different from others. Though it involves questions of poetics, these questions were all subtly linked together through that Yan Yu pays more attention to aesthetic on poem creation and trivialises the traditional customs of "Ideal in Poems". This chapter will interpret the theory system of Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry from four aspects. First, Yan Yu holds the poetry of Tang Dynasty in high esteem, and he thinks that "Xing Qu"used by Yan Yu to tell which peom is better plays a important role in the poetry of Tang Dynasty, and he realizes the neature of the peotry is the Artistic Esthetic. Second, we can feel the magic of poetry with "Miao Wu" which is explained in the light of concrete conditions by Yan Yu. That the "Miao Wu" is the most important part of Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry suggests that Yan Yu makes the subjective of aesthetic and the originality proposition of prompting self-sagacity stand out. Third, the part of poetic style is the central manifestation of sense of differentiation of styles which is based on the poetic theory of paying more attention to the essential of artistic appreciation and using classification method to discrimination the school and the style of poetry. At last, Yan Yu realize the major difference between tang poetry and song poetry and generalizes abstract philosophy. Finally, After the finishing of the book, it is a major impact on the poetic theory of the end of the Southern Song and Yuan Dynasty. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the transmission of Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry limits his native land, and the main way of transmission is the quotation of others, such as Qingzhi Wei's Shi Ren Yu Xie and Xiwen Fan's Dui Chuang Ye Hua. Besides, the theory of other poetic theorist is similar with Yan Yu's. During the Yuan dynasty, Its influence is becoming more extensive, which involves four aspects:the poetic theory based on disposition, the method of learn by heart to learn peoms, the poetic theory with Chan Buddhism, the peom creation orientation of giving praise to Tang and fixing the blame to Song. Because of the background characteristic of times, the poetic theorist of Yuan inherit the poetic theory of Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry in a critical way. However, it is undeniable that the influence of Cang Lang's Remarks on Poetry to the poetic theory of Yuan is profound and all-round.
