Research On The Hypotaxis-marked Complex Sentences Purpose In Modern Chinese From Clause-order Perspective

The complex sentences of purpose is one non-negligible type of Chinese complex sentence research.this thesis analyzes the complex sentences of purpose from the clauses sequence perspective in modern Chinese. Based on the prime theory of sequence and the theory of three planes,the paper classified the hypotaxis-prominent complex sentences of purpose into two categories, the reversible ones and the irreversible ones. Meantime,we observe and study these two types of the complex sentences respectively from syntaxes,semantics and pragmatics,revealing aspects of differences and similarities.The whole thesis is made up of five chapters,the main idea of each as follow.The first chapter for the introduction, reviewing and summarizing the previous research achievements, illustrate anticipated goal, concepts and methods and sources of corpus.The second to the fourth chapter is the main part.The second chapter basically depend on the investigation of corpus for determining the basic clause order of the complex sentences of purpose of hypotaxis marker in modern Chinese.It is order that the action clauses are in the former and the purpose clauses are behind. On this basis, divide the modern Chinese hypotactic marked complex sentences of purpose into the reversible and irreversible two big types.The third chapter is about the reversible types. We describe and analysis the reversible types from the aspects of list structure semantics and pragmatics According to the investigation results, we classified as "action-purpose" and "purpose-action" two big hypogynous types, then maked pragmatic investigation on them from the mental world highlights, textual cohesion etc.The fourth chapter is on the irreversible types.We researched on the irreversible types from the aspects of list structure,semantics and restraining factor etc. According to the investigation results, we can confirm its semantic structure is "action-purpose" type, and respectively make exploratory explanation on its irreversibility in logic, contact item centered, time iconicity, information structure principle etc. The last chapter is conclusion, It mainly summarized for the paper work done on some issues, some thinkings about the problems of mine and further studies.
