By analyzing the works written at the end of last century by ZHANG Faction's descendants, i.e. WANG Anyi, ZHU Tianwen and SHI Shuqing, this paper is throughout the typical modern/post-modern metropolitans described by the writers like Shanghai, Taipei and Hongkong, to rethink the problems in the novels of these three writers caused by modernization.Through classifying the works written at the end of last century by the three female writers, the paper means to enrich the studies of modern literature on metropolitans and modernization. Meanwhile the apprehensions and reflections of female also augment human being's understandings of the world as well as male writers. This paper divides into three parts:The First Chapter is to summarize the characteristics of each writer's creation and to show how they described their home city in their unique writings. Based on the common feelings of the three writers on modern / post-modern metropolitans at the end of last century and from three aspects: types of people in metropolitans at the end of last century, materialization in metropolitans and traits of metropolitans influenced by globalization at the end of last century, Chapter Two is to analyze the common features showed at the end of last century in the three metropolitans Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong described by the three writers; and to sort out relatively abundant images of a modern / post-modern metropolitan at the end of last century so as to rethink the detailed questions on modernization.Chapter Three, The three writers respectively made their own reflections to the globalized metropolitans at the end of last century. They express themselves or re-examine themselves or cogitate, or seek for salvation, which formed their own apprehension and conception to the end of last century.
