Shut The Modernization Of The Regional Political - Theory And Historical Experience To Explore

The research target of the dissertation is regional political modernization in Central Shaanxi. The period is from 1840 to 2010. China is a large country and has various regional features. As a part of Chinese modernization, these regions are similar to each other; meanwhile, each of them keeps distinctions. Therefore, research in regional modernization becomes an integral part of research in Chinese modernization and develops as a new field. The areas of regional modernization research include politics, economics, society and culture, etc. In them, political modernization is an important one.Central Shaanxi is a region in China, so political modernization research in Central Shaanxi is a case study. It also refers to theory research. At present, the results of regional modernization research are very scarce; however, the demand for regional modernization theory is urgent. Central Shaanxi is an undeveloped area, and also has an urgent need for theory guidance; so the research in political modernization in Central Shaanxi is very necessary and practical. Through analyzing the developing history, basic features and general rule of political modernization in Central Shaanxi, the writer aimed to identify the particularity and typicalness of political modernization in Central Shaanxi. For instance, which factors are positive or negative for the development of political modernization in Central Shaanxi? What experience and lessons could be drawn from the failure of early political modernization in Central Shaanxi? The final goal is to gather useful theory and practice experience and to promote the modernization development in other areas in China.The development of political modernization in Central Shaanxi experienced three stages. On the first stage, political modernization was launched off in Central Shaanxi with difficulty. Through analyzing three great history events in China, including hundred days of reform, constitutionalism towards the end of Qing Dynasty and the revolution of 1911, as well as relative reforms in the areas of military and education, the writer displayed how the political modernization was started in Central Shaanxi. On the second stage, the development of political modernization in Central Shaanxi was involved in difficult position. Through analyzing the progress of political change, military and education during republican period in Central Shaanxi, the writer probed negative local factors which affected political modernization in Central Shaanxi. On the last phase, political modernization was developed all-around in Central Shaanxi. After the establishment of People's Republic of China, political modernization experienced early exploration, radical reform and progressive reform and now it maintains a stable development. Through examining the whole developing process of political modernization in Central Shaanxi, the writer gathered the features, experiences and lessons of political modernization in Central Shaanxi, analyzed the opportunities and challenges Central Shaanxi confronted in political modernization and predicated the developing trends of political modernization in Central Shaanxi.
