The producing locations of Ordos city, AlaShanMeng and XiLinGuoLeMeng are moster than other origin of Inner Mongolia. Ordos city at least have 32 salt pond, in which, 11 salt pond producing locations had been abandoned or dispear. AlaShanMeng have 26 salt pond producing locations, among them, the most larger are two which is JiLanTai salt pond and YaBuLai salt pond, others are smaller. Now,.in this area, except some biger salt ponds still product the salt, other smaller ones had been abandoued. In XiLinGuoLeMeng, It have a total of 17 producing locations of the common salt, among them, 16 pond salt producing locations, 1 soil salt producing locations. These salt producing locations are famous as Green salt and White salt. In Bayanzhuoer city, Huhhot city, Baotou city and WuLanChaBuMeng, It have a total of 20 producing locations, among them, 9 pond salt producing locations, 11 soil salt producing locations. but, in this area, not only the common salt producing locations are fewer, but also scattered.
