As one of the representatives in the wave of anti-post-modernism of contemporary continental philosophy, Alain Badiou criticizes and doubts almost all the post-modern ideas. He confirmed the unity of mathematics and philosophy, based on number theory, combining Plato and Descartes in number regression, borrowing set theory from Cantor. Through critical thinking and understanding of dozens of ancient Greek philosophers, he comes to a series of thinking, which first solves the problems related to the number and then puts the logistics of number into practice to come to the actual truth of the matter. Badiou's ontology is the mathematical ontology, that is to say, his ontology bases on the discussions of number, starting from One and Multiple as the Being of the ontological discussion, which is not only the root of number, but also basic concepts for discussion and deduction. The One and the Multiple are the base of the conclusion—deduction structure decides existence and development. This paper first analyzes the source and connotation of the One and the Multiple, and then integrates mathematics and philosophy, to do one deduction from the mathematical ontology to philosophy and then practice areas. Badiou, unlike most contemporary thinkers, attaches great importance to practice, interpreting his philosophical outlook by taking active role in political events. Concerning political philosophy and events to be the main place of his ontology, he considered that the fundamental problem of politics is not to make the society more united in a narrow social circle but to look into the issue of the gradual liberation of the public. How to liberate and how to allow yourself to liberate, are the issues to be explored. This paper aims to retrieve how Badiou re-interprets the philosophical dialogues on the One and the Mutiple since ancient Greek, and then analyzes how Badiou creatively make use of former philosophical concepts to explain his theory of subject and its ontology as well as showing the meaning of his theory for present. This paper goes along the deduction ideas of Badiou, regressing Plato's ontological theory, analyzing concepts aroused by the One and the Multiple, presenting connotative understanding of Badiou's the new concepts-State of Station, and tries to get a complete thinking of mathematics, philosophy and multiple practical subjects. Finally, in perspective of practice, this paper will give a whole understanding and evaluation of Badiou's theory of subject by putting it in the background of western literary aesthetics. This process approves the combination of mathematics and philosophy, and is helpful to locate Badiou's subject and theory of subject, as well as a rebuttal to disappearing of subject by post-modern deconstruction theory. Look for a newsubject and solutions becomes quite significant for present.
