Hope is a positive personality trait.Hope contains pathway thoughts and agency thoughts together to achieve goals. The Predecessors'reseach shows that person of high degree level of hope ineurs less depression and anxiety.They hava much more positive thouhgts, high level of self-esteem and self-confidence.This makes them have strong ability to deal with issues. The junior high school students are the adolescents and youths.They have physiological and psychological change.At the most of the time they can keep positive mind,but they also around the negative and pessimistive mood. They faced academic pressure, communication pressure and the pressures of the entrance, unavoidable would suffer all kinds of setbacks. Therefore, cultivation of students actively idiosyncratic, improve their hopes to boost their confidence level, are particularly important.The study bases on the sample of junior high school students. Our research aims to find out the fact that mediation effect of coping styles between hope and self-confidence. The hope scale of junior high school students, Concise coping style questionnaire and the confidence questionnaire of junior high school students were used in 694 junior high school students to analyze and make the conclusions as below:1.The hope of junior high school students is above the middle-class, Hope in junior high school students gender characteristics and the difference is not significant; In grade variables, different domestic seat with significant difference.2.The junior high school students tend to take active coping styles. Students of different genders in positive coping style and total scores is significant differences, negative coping style in no significant difference.Boys are higher than girls in positive coping style and total scores. In grade variables.the dimensions of coping style and total scores with significant difference. Location in different families is not significantly different.3.The junior high school students at the middle level of confidence. Students of different genders in the overall self-confidence, body-confidence and total scores were significant differences,but in academic self-confidence and social confidence difference was not significant. The dimensions of confidence and total scores were significant differences.4.Junior high school studentsschool students hope traits level and positive coping styles and way to deal with the total score positively correlated; Hope traits level and overall confidence, academic confidence, social confidence, body self-confidence and overall confidence presents significant positive correlation.5.Hope of coping styles can directly predict coping styles and self-confidence(overall confidence, academic confidence, social confident, body confidence and confidence is the total score),It has that mediation effect of coping styles between hope and self-confidence.
