Hope is a psychological concept,which in accord with the study standards of Positive Psychology.Many researches have proved that hope has a remarkable effect for personal mental and physical health and individual development.Person of high degree level of hope incurs less depression and anxiety.They have much more positive thoughts, higher level of self-esteem and self-confidence.This makes them have strong ability to deal with issues.But,at present,there is less study about hope disposition,self-confidence and the relation between them in our country. This study is based on the pre-researcher'theories.It perposed to develop a standardized hope questionnaire,which suits students of primary high school.For this purpose, basing on literature review,theory study and experts'discussion ,this research puts forward the hypothesis and conceive of hope disposition and self-confidence, formed initial questionnaires;then through item analysis,factor analysis,test of reliability and validity,made structured questionnaire;finally,studied the characteristics of primary high school students'hope disposition and confidence, and the relation between hope disposition and self-confidence.Consequences follow from this:1.the hope scale and self-confidence scale have good reliability and validity,they are completely in conformity with the claim of psychometrics,and can be used for evaluating the level of hope and confidence of the primary high school students.2.the hope scale is made up of five secondary scales(common hope,lesson hope,family hope,interpersonal relationship hope and leisure hope),and every secondary scale evaluates the pathway thoughts and agency thoughts of relevant aspects;the confidence scale is made up of five dimensions(fellow relationship, physical sport,social intercommunicate effect,appearance confidence and lesson confidence).3.as a whole,the level of pathway thoughts are higher than agency thoughts,but from every aspects,the consequence is inverse.4.students at different grades have significant difference in pathway thoughts and agency thoughts of lesson hope,agency thoughts of family hope,pathway thoughts of leisure hope,and shows that the level of hope of junior'is higher than senior'.In addition,students at different ages have significant difference in physical sport confidence,and the level of frosh' is higher than senior'.5. students at different genders have no significant difference in level of hope,but have difference at level of physical sport confidence,and shows that the level of male' is higher than female'.6.students between having no sisters or brothers and having sisters or brothers show no significant difference on the level of hope and confidence.7.students at different birthplace have significant difference on the level of pathway thoughts of common hope,and students' level in cities is higher than students'level in countryside;in addition, students at different birthplace have significant difference on the level of total confidence score,fellow relationship and social intercommunicate effect, and students'level in cities is higher than students'level in countryside.8.it has significant correlative relation between the hope disposition and confidence,and to a degree,the level of hope can forecast the level of confidence.
