Research On Witch Culture Of The Three Gorges In Pre-qin Dynasty

It is acknowledged in the academia that the Three Gorges of Yangtze River is one of the important cradles of Chinese culture. Especially, witch culture in this area contains rich spiritual connotation of culture origin of human beings. In light of this, the author discusses in the present thesis that witch culture in the area of Three Gorges of Yangtze River as one of the origin of Chinese culture makes an essential influence in Ba, Chu and Shu culture in terms of its position in pre-qin culture. The thesis covers six parts: first, the social background of witch culture's production, such as geographical environment, the ancient resident, people's producing and living styles and primitive thinking; second, the exploration of the ancient people's thinking mode and witch thoughts embodying in the myths of the three gorges by employing foreign theories on the ancient thinking mode; third, witch culture reflected in poetry and the songs of Chu, especially poem creation by analyzing the works of Qu Yuan and Song Yu; fourth, discussion witch culture in religious sites of the three gorges from the viewpoint of jade worship, totem worship, nature worship and worship of people and ghost; last, witch culture in customs in the areas of the three gorges.In term of the cultural background of witch culture's production and the analysis of witch culture reflected in myths, the songs of Chu, religion, fork remains, the author makes a conclusion as follows: based on the specific geographical environment, production mode and the special position in the history of Chinese development, the area of the three gorges becomes the cradle of witch culture, an origin of Ba and Chu culture, which also accelerates the development of Shu culture. At the same time, witch culture makes a great impact on the development of civilization and national culture in the area of Yangtze River and contributes a lot to the development of Chinese civilization. It is necessary for us to correct attitude, trace the ancient and also want from this ancient theory to find out the track of the production, development transformation and variation of these folk beliefs and customs. On the basis of these analyses, it is helpful for us to research on witch culture, so that we can dig, protect and inherit the cultural heritage which is related to witch culture and promote tourism economy.
