The Modern Chinese Adverbs Research In The Theoretical Perspectives Of Prosodic Syntax

As the adverbials,the position of modern Chinese adverbs in the sentence is not uniform, but flexible. Meanwhile, the adverbs as a modifier, easily become the focus of the sentences, but the adverbs in different positions have different abilities to be the focus . The thesis analysizes the difference of the syntactic properties of the adverbs in different positions with the distribution of modern Chinese adverbs in the sentence for materials.Consult and follow the theoretical perspectives of prosodic syntax, we can observe the prosodic characteristics of modern Chinese adverbs and whole sentences, which restrain and affect the role of modern Chinese adverbs in the sentences.Modern Chinese adverbs are divided into two parts in the thesis, that is monosyllabic adverbs and two syllables . Each part tells the adverbs' prosodic characteristics and sentences prosodic features as the starting point.The thesis consists of five chapters to discuss.I elaborate the difference of syntax, center on the distribution of monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs in different positions in the sentences. Finally concluded that the prosodic features of modern Chinese monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs to a certain extent have affected adverb the distribution and the degree of freedom of the monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs in the sentences.I research on the impact and restriction of syntactic characteristics of monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs based on the syntactic properties of the class in the first step. There are three parts discussed in this chapter: firstly, to examine if monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs in different syntactic properties are among the general stress range field; secondly, to give the analysis of prosodic features of sentences, that is , the constraints effect of ordinary rules of syllable stress in the adverbs syntax ; finally to conclude the prosodic features of sentences ,that is the performance of the ordinary stress rules which restrict all kinds of monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs in the sentences. The ordinary stress is the most common patterns of natural stress in the sentences, which will not disappear and only to be overwhelmed by other strong accents. So most of the monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs must follow the normal stress, and some monosyllabic adverbs and two-syllable adverbs stress can change the object, which only in the case the rhythm component of ordinary stress holders below the rhythm component of focus, or focus components have become the strong focus that the focus ingredients may become the stress and the focus.Finally,I can draw the conclusion from those issues I discussed.The prosodic characteristics of modern Chinese adverbs and whole sentences, which restrain and affect the role of modern Chinese adverbs in the sentences.In the study of modern Chinese adverbs, it is necessary to discuss the prosodic characteristics and how it affects and constraints modern Chinese adverbs syntax start with the point of prosody .
