Max weber is an influential and vitality ideologist in the modern society. In his book "economic ethics of world religion", Max weber lets us begin to realize the theory of "economic ethics". In Weber’s famous book "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism",weber examinesd the religious spirit that was born in the great religious movement in the 16 th century as the key research object, and this spirit of capitalism is the driving force of modern capitalism in Europe to help economic development. This article focuses on Weber’s "Protestant ethic and capitalism," and other important reference Weber’s Protestant work to explore the economic ethics. The paper studys the background of education, family, and social environment that Weber’s Protestant Economy thought was formated from Weber’s parents suffered religious belief and Weber’s religious education during the school, the prevailing political culture, and the development of capitalist;and then, the paper investigates the theory source of Weber economic ethics. The paper cards the main contents and system of Weber’s Protestant Economy Ethic from the main content of three aspects and their effect on the development of capitalism of Luther’s "vocation notions",Calvin "God preselection said" and asceticism.Whether Luther’s "vocation notion" or Calvin "God preselected said",an important feature is that they require christians to fulfill the secular activities. In order to qualify as God’s chosen people to get God’s salvation,Christians only have the quality of hard working, frugality, punctuality, rational rich, and so on. The importance of "vocation notion" and “ God preselected ” to the development of capitalism is morally affirming the rationality of the secular occupational activities, cultivating people’s rational capitalistic way of life and spiritual temperament, thus, virtually strengthening people’s capitalistic economic activity. For the asceticism,Protestant asceticism broke through the Christian tradition of asceticism thinking, Christians no longer get through the old way of "closed-door practice" and "meditation" to achieve a state of abstinence, if you want real abstinence, Christian only Consider themselves as the "action tools "; asceticism advocates rational consumption, and is opposed tospendthrift for wealth, such, accumulating considerable wealth for the economic development of capitalism. In the last part of the paper,I make a evaluation for the historical role of the Weber’s Protestant Economy Ethic, its positive significance to the society lies in the following areas :firstly, it creates a new idea for the study of religious cultural and socio-economic development;Secondly, it brings up people’s spiritual and cultural qualities of capitalism, and this temperament is the internal driving force of capitalist development;Thirdly, the contribution to social science methodology is "explaining complicated social phenomenon in a simple way of reason";Fourthly, the significance of the construction of China’s market economy is that: While in the development of the economy,we should pay attention to the importance of moral’s role in the economy and to the culture construction of the enterprise,at the same time,we should promote transformation of the traditional culture in China. The limitations of Weber’s Protestant Economy Ethic held in the history of its contradictions, single vision, a sense of cultural superiority and his bourgeois class position. The paper considers weber’s protestant economic ethics as the key research object, aiming at depthly understanding weber’s great thoughts, and absorbing the reasonable components of weber’s thoughts, providing certain reference for our country’s economic modernization.
