Tvb Realistic Theme Type Drama

Ever since 1982, the TVB-produced TV series have been keeping the Mainland-China-audience company for almost 30 decades. Among these TVB brainchildren, the Great Times, Healing Hands and other classics have made indelible impressions on their audience. Based on the examination of TVB TV series'formation and their development trajectory, and the summary of their types of mechanism, this paper will carry out detailed analysis and research on TVB TV series, especially on their two major genres—drama of family ethics and drama of vocations—in terms of theme, narrative style and characters, in the hope of shedding some new light on the makings of TV series in Mainland China by generalizing their rules of creation, summarizing their experiences, discussing their losses and successes, and providing feasible methods for future development.From the perspective of genre, this paper divides the drama of real life into two genres: drama of family ethics and drama of vocations. The first chapter is an abstract of the conformation and development of TVB genre TV series. In Chapter Two, the two sub-genres under drama of family ethics-drama of big families and drama of ordinary people-will be analyzed with the combination of theory and real practice. In Chapter Three, in-depth research and discussions will be conducted on the drama of vocations in terms of development, factors of genre, and implications. Chapter Four of this paper will be focused on the status quo of TVB-made TV series of real life, and summarize their current issues, trend in development and lessons that could be drawn from them.
