Research On Zhangwei's Creation From Ecological Point Of View

Since the 70s of the 20^th century, the literary circle has been gradually concerning for the ecological literature, which became a famous school in the 90s in the literary research field along with the increase of the trends of world ecological ideology. To examine the ecological awareness of a writer in his or her literature creation by drawing lessons from modern ecological theory is rapidly becoming a heated issue in academic circles. Therefore, the author of this thesis holds that it is a valuable exploration of expanding the methods and room of literature research by studying Zhang Wei and his works from a new ecological perspective using modern ecological theory and sociological theory.Zhang Wei, a famous writer in Chinese contemporary literature with innumerable great achievements shocks the literary circle after the publication of his work Ancient Boat. From then on, the study on Zhang Wei is prevalent and in full swing. At present, the study on Zhang Wei mostly focuses on the fields of moral and ideal themes, folk standpoints, creation development process, psychological research of creation, comparative research, etc. These researches, with extremely significant academic values, have made thoroughly detailed analyses on Zhang Wei's works from different levels. But study on writers and their works from ecological angles is still in its infancy. Zhang Wei, differing from many others who adopt the viewpoint"Anthropocentrism", holds fast to the ecological idea"Harmony and Unity between Man and Nature", putting forward his fresh view of point, namely harmony between man and nature, fitness among people, and harmony between man and his own life. By examining today's villages, cities, relations among people, and people's own changes with the experience of rural life, Zhang Wei has constructed two different worlds in the literary and artistic creation, namely natural and harmonious"Eco World"and"Non-eco World"edified by modern civilization, demonstrating his deep sense of crisis, desire to restore harmonious ecological society, and aspiration to achieve ecological justice.This thesis consists of three parts with its first part focusing on excavating the origin of the writer's ecological thinking, analyzing his life experience and literature creation and making a systematical summary of the thinking that influences his creation under the background of global ecological problems worsening and human kind's ecological awareness strengthening. The second part mainly talks about the writer's observation and thought when faced with survival dilemma caused by ecological environment. Finally, by referring to the ecological awareness of Chinese traditional cultures and western ecological thinking, this thesis gives a comprehensive and profound analysis on Zhang Wei's ecological thinking and creation from natural ecological, social ecological and spiritual ecological angles based on modern ecological theory and ecological justice. In addition, the author of this thesis sincerely wishes to have a deeper understanding of Zhang Wei's works by exploring the ecological awareness shown in his works.
