At present, university students' Internet addiction is so serious that result in many adverse consequences. In order to better understand the IAD students's motive mechanism of behavior change, this study will use Motivational Interviewing's theory to research undergraduates' internet addiction. Because of the current IAD Intervention usually have some problems such as the low level change motivation, unwillingness to participate in treatment, we developed a set of Motivational Interviewing's group counseling plan, and inspected the effect of the intervention. We hope this research could enrich the IAD field from the theoretical level and practical aspects. This dissertation was divided into two sub-study. In study 1, based on Motivational Interviewing theory, through the sample of 844 college students, used correlation, F test, multiple regression analysis, to explore the change motivation factors of the college students on high IAD tendency. In Study 2, based on the result of study 1 and Motivational Interviewing, we developed a group intervention plan, adopted non-parametric test and qualitative research to inspect its effects on 8 students has high IAD tendency. The results showed:(1) In the confidence of resist situational temptation, IAD undergraduates'confidence is minimum, followed by Internet dependence undergraduates, non-IAD students'confidence is highest.(2) In the processes of change, IAD undergraduates aware of the most harm, followed by Internet dependence undergraduates, non-IAD students'experience the least harm degree. Compared to non-IAD students, Internet dependence undergraduates use more behavior monitoring strategy to control internet behaviors, avoid online strategy can effectively ensure and improve college students' healthy level of internet behaviors.(3) Among the college students on high IAD tendency, there have a significant influence between confidence of resist situational temptation, cognitive processes, behavioral processes and change motivation.(4) Change motivation, confidence of resist situational temptation, cognitive processes, behavioral processes can effectively predict the degree of internet addiction, especially the confidence of resist situational temptation.(5)After group counseling, the stages of change, the motivation of change, the confidence of resist situational temptation, the processes of change is enhanced markedly among the college students on high IAD tendency.(6) After the intervention, the degree of Internet addiction of the college students on high IAD tendency of college declined. The result shows that the Motivational Interviewing's group counseling for undergraduates who has high IAD tendency has good effect.
