With a high-speed development on Internet's usage and convenience, people are getting more and more used to Internet use in their daily life in this Internet Age.Nowadays,Internet has played a significant role in college student's everyday life and study. It goes without saying that,at the mean time Internet betters student's life,it brings about a critical issue of Internet addiction among a large number of the young. Thus,it is urgently necessary for college students to master a balance between their normal life and Internet usage,to avoid Internet addiction and abandoning their study. It so far has become quite a hot topic among different colleges that needs to be addressed. This paper starts from looking into this current social topic, and spreads out a thorough discussion and study of how Internet addiction hazards teenager's life and study,as well as its evaluation, based on both theories and experiments,in which college students are taken as our main research objects. On one hand,in a group psychological counseling method, author hopes to help these students to set up a correct self-awareness and values,by strengthening their self-control and getting rid of Internet addiction,in order for them to get back to their normal life and learning. On the other, hand, this paper aims to enlarge the applicable field of group psychological counseling, and provides some models and suggestions with respect to resolving Internet addiction by a system manualized intervention mode, which could also be utilized to other fields and research groups. This paper adopts methods of interview, questionnaire, participatory observation and action research, and it sets up activities following "CBT for Internet Addiction Treatment Manual",developed by Dr.Wen Li(Assistant Professor at Rutgers University School of Social Work),as an instruction guide and main content.Innovatively, based on CBT in psychological couns.eling theory, which is usually used for single case,we try to apply it in the group training activities that are set up to resolve Internet addiction issue. Before the start of the activity,we sorted out a group college students who are addicted to Internet following "CIAS-R" written by Professor Fumin Fan,and conducted problem assessment and motive discussion with each one of them.Afterwards, six of these college students, who have strong willing to change and improve the current situation, participated with the author in this group counseling activity. This activity research consists of six activities and lasts two months. To ensure the quality and effectiveness of this activity,as the organizer and leader of this activity, the author devotes fully into it and gains a great deal of advice and suggestion from the three professors, theoretically and experimentally. At last,a thorough effect evaluation and a reflection discussion were conducted based on the activity process and result. There might be some limitation and lack of quantity and sample size of this research activity. However, the design of this research gets rid of the current situation,in which experience alone plays as the motive. While it is based on the data and proof of the result, and guided by a manual intervention model with scientific operability. It is hard to deny that, the group scheme architecture applied in this research is more scientific and convincing. This paper covers a comprehensive research content, with good team cooperation and proper event venue. In practice, the author always upholds the professional value concept, and applies group counseling training methods and techniques in a basic standard. After being assessed,above-mentioned work have achieved remarkable results in helping college students improve Internet dependence. The effect is mainly reflected in aspects such as,greatly reduced the dependence on Internet of six students;improved their self-control abilities;Internet use is optimized;improper cognition is corrected;student's thinking mode is developed;and better social skills and so on.
