Affective factors are very important to learning and teaching in the second language acquisition.This paper discusses affective factors on second language learning from the angels of learning motivation, learning attitudes, learner's personality, and language anxiety. According to the classification of motivation from Gardner and Lambert ,which is instrumental motivation. The author analyzes motivation of the Thai students , finds out the different manifestations of learners who have different motivations. Teachers lead learners to the right motivations, and stimulate learning motivation fully, which provides a positive influence on language learning. In the second language learning, attitude can be explained in three ways, which are attitudes to the populations and culture of target language, and to learning action itself, as well as negative impact from native speakers . This paper analyzed from this three aspects, discussed attitude about how to impact on learning.To learner's personality, The author measured personality with "directional check card" , and then analyzed the performance of study,figured out that students with Introvert and extrovert personality did not affect study performance significantly.But students with different personalities got different scores on oral test. Language Anxiety as a negative factor, this paper analyzes how language anxiety effects on learning a second language.According to the analysis about four factors, The author suggests five ways to train positive affective factors: By developing Learner's interest and enhancing self-confidence ,to stimulate learning motivation; through the relaxing learning atmosphere, reducing the language anxiety.; through guiding students the self-attribution, developing self-monitoring capabilities; through correcting awareness of competition and cooperation, fostering ability of cooperative.
