The purpose of this paper was to analyze Chinese painting composition from the viewpoint of music. The essence of Chinese painting composition was revealed, through comparing the regular solutions of the composition theory of Chinese painting. Firstly, the history and the developing process of the composition theory of Chinese painting was briefly stated. Moreover, the elements of Chinese painting compositions and music creations were both deeply analyzed and compared. Through comparing, the consistence of them was found. Through these comparing, the interoperability of Chinese painting compositions and music creations was proved.Thus, the inner consistence of Chinese painting compositions and music creations existed in terms of the organizational form and the aesthetic rule. So, it is more deeply and thoroughly to understand the essential rules of the Chinese painting compositions.In this paper, literature research method, method of creation analysis, case study method, method of comparative analysis, method of experience summarizing, describing research method, deductive method and methods of analysis and synthesis were all used. The application of these methods above was different according to different research content. Through the reasonable application of all research methods, finally the correct and objective conclusions were obtained.Results indicated that the inner consistence of Chinese painting compositions and music existed in terms of the organizational form and the aesthetic rule. In other words, through analyzing the compositional elements of Chinese painting and music, comparing the organizational form of Chinese painting and music, the fact that the inner consistence of organization of Chinese painting compositions and music existed in terms of the aesthetic rule was disclosed. Thus, the law of Chinese painting compositions, in the viewpoint of Macro and micro, whole and part, was posed. The conclusions of this paper were definitely practical and valuable. What's more, these conclusions greatly promoted the development and improvement of the theory of Chinese painting compositions.
