The traditional Chinese geomantic culture, with "yin-yang" for the premise,"vital theory"as the core and "Keeping wind to get water" as an condition, is applied to lead to the choice ofsuitable living environment; what is far more, it is also utilized as professional theories to guidethe constructions of capital, military camp and grave, which shows the people's pursuit of anideal life. Having a profound analysis of the ethnic concepts, such as yin and yang, vital theory,cosmology and Tian Ren He Yi, etc., is of great significance for the understanding of the core ofgeomantic culture.This article is organized into four parts. The first part is mainly concerned with the originand the basic connotations of geomantic culture, which can help the understanding of the basicideas of geomantic culture. The second part is mainly about the ethnical implications ingeomantic culture, it included nature of all things equal and harmonious concept,And admitthat nature has intrinsic value, think protecting natural is human bounden duty. In this part, thenature and the three ideologies of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, and Illustrations of theseconcepts have been profoundly conducted. Analysis on Rationality and limitations of geomanticculture are performed in the third section. Geomantic inheritance up to now has its inevitablefactors, He advocated love everything, Advocate the moral principles,and while the idea of"Tian Ren He Yi" has been widely respected, there have been some inevitable limitations whichrequire our comprehensive and rational understanding, For example has a strong feudal color.The fouth part illustrates the Contemporary Values of geomantic culture. The modern society hasbeen found greatly suffered from the ecological crisis and the environmental pollution, while theconcepts of "Respect for nature" and "Tian Ren He Yi", which are found to be applicable ineconomic development, environment preservation and the construction of Social civilization,lighten a new road for Sustainable development.The geomantic culture is the produce of historical development in China, as well as thevivid pictures of the harmonious relations between our ancestors and the nature. The rationalitywithin the geomantic culture can not be hidden, though some unreasonable ideas are undesirablymixed. It is supposed that the rational parts should be valued and further utilized to lead acoordinated development of human, nature and the society.
