The Function And Siginificance Of Simplified-drawing In Basic Curriculum Of Comic-animation Education

With the growth of comic and animation in China, the comic industry has already become a new growth aspect of our national economic development. However, comparing to comic in other developed countries, comic and animation in China are still on the threshold and have an obvious long distance to formers. The comic and animation creators and educators have to endeavour in order to make Chinese comic more competitive.The key point for making dramatic progress in comic industry is to educate excellent comic and animation producer. Comic industry and education in China has being linked together. Only in laying a solid foundation in academy could foster the development of comic and animation industry.Nowadays, the short of our excellent producer in comic industry has been a fact for long time. How to promote comic major into a highly educated and learned level has already become the task of top priority for comic education.As the original visual language in human history, people use simplified drawing as highly-summarized way to abstract the main characteristics of image and create various images in the way of geometry and concision. Comparing to the basic painting education, simplified-drawing can be earlier and faster received by students who major in comic study. The features of simplified-drawing and comic-animation can join in training the ability of generalization, memory, imagination, recitation and creativity, etc. It also join the features with comic-animation to rise the understanding of the objects and solid the ability of designation when they create all by themselves.This paper takes the investigation of the comic-animation as compulsory course in several universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiling province and Xinjiang Autonomous Region as the foundation. This paper also makes further efforts in discussing and analysing how the simplified-drawing works in the basic educate and study sections of comic-animation major in the ways of content, designation and strategies. With detailed and systematical analysis, scientific teaching-studying scheme, the paper also hopes to make some contribution in making the perfection of comic-animation education in the part of fundamental study.
