The Research Of "Four Talents Of Jiuhua" And Their Poetry

"Four Talents of Jiuhua",famous for their poems ,were a group of poets in the late Tang Dynasty, they were Xu Tang, Zhang Qiao, Zhang Pin and Zhou Yao. They were from Jiuhuashan surrounding areas in southern Anhui."Four Talents of Jiuhua"were well-known in the literary world , more than 449 poems spread in the world, besides a classical poem, others were poems of recent styles. Poems and quatrains have high creative achievements, many of them were famous for good words ."Four Talents of Jiuhua"learned poetry from Jia Dao, they were known for writing poetry assiduously , but there was not their biography in Old and New Tang History , their life stories were littte written by the literatures in Tang and Song Dynasty and future generations, that the literature can be test are: Chronicle of Tang Poems, Tang Zhi Yan, Biogaphies of the Gifted Scholars in the Tang Dynasty , Bei Meng Suo Yan, Tang Yu Lin and so on. The literatures have only recorded their life stories and poems roughly, but much of them were some fragmentary and scattered descriptions , not too much and deep research . Because of the lack of historical datas and other reasons, the attention of Academia about"Four Talents of Jiuhua"is limited . In recent years, more attentions in Academia about"Four Talents of Jiuhua"are case studies, concerning their life stories, thoughts, poetry and Arts Features has not a more comprehensive overall study. The paper is based on existed poems of"Four Talents of Jiuhua", combining with historical datas and related literatures, discussing"Four Talents of Jiuhua"and their poetry. The paper is mainly based on the research and Poetics, the paper divide into four chapters. The first chapter is life stories and thoughts of"Four Talents of Jiuhua", through exploring life stories and thoughts , we can get a better analysis of their Writing experiences, so that we may make the comprehensive understanding about the group of writers .The second chapter is the friends they had contacted ,such as govenment officials, scholars, monks, through the research , reflecting the majority of scholars'hardship experiences and creative minds including"Four Talents of Jiuhua", which is a vivid portrayal of most scholars in the late Tang Dynasty . The third chapter is their poems content. By the theme orientation, their poems existed today can be divided into five sorts: poems about making friends, poems for emotions expressing, poems for scenery, poems for frontier, poems for things. Their theme orientation in poems is typical among many scholars in the late Tang Dynasty . The fourth chapter is the arts features of their peoms. The paper alalysis the artistic feature of their poems from the genre type , assiduous atmosphere of poetry, poetic images, the performance, which contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the artistic feature of the late Tang Dynasty. As a poor scholar group in the late Tang Dynasty , the conclusion summarizes that their life stories, thoughts , the content and artistic feature of their poems are typical in the late Tang Dynasty, they have a unique position in the history of literature . Their miserable life experience, rough careers, learning poetry from Jia Dao, assiduously writing poetry are known to us. In the late Tang Dynasty , many people learned from Jia Dao, such as"Late Tang Dynasty style"Poets, Nine Monks and so on,"Four Talents of Jiuhua"played a role among them as a bridge.
