Sibo Ethnic Group lived along the Nen River from the Yuan and the Ming dynasty. In 1547, Kuimenghetashara of Horqin tribe helped Ming dynasty with the suppression of Wulianghai rebellion by order from the emperor of North Yuan, and then got extension of his reign to Nen river valley, and thus took control of Sibo people. During it's submission to Horqin, Sibo got such special treatments as peculiar status, own independence and protection from Horqin kings. In 1692, the thirty first year of emperor Kangxi, the imperial government of Qing dynasty redeemed Sibo from Horqin tribe for the purpose of northeast defense and placing Sibo under it's direct control. Thus after it's redemption, Sibo's soldiers were sent to places like Qiqihaihar, Ula etc as defending force, while the rest still lived in Horqin Mongolia. Yet the Sibo soldiers were removed twice latter, the first time to cities like Shengjing and Jingshi together with their families as army force in 1699, and the second to Northwest Ily for strengthening there garrison with their families. Along the line of Sibo's migration, some places' names in Horqin Mongolia still can reflect their distribution over Horqin and their life tracks in Horqin Mongolia. In addition, Sibo had much in common with Mongolia, which has to do with their close association and cultural infiltration between the two groups.
