Academic procrastination exists widely in the rural middle school students, and it has negative impact on physical and mental health of these students, so it is necessary to research academic procrastination. Using self-made academic procrastination questionnaire in rural junior school students, this study analysis the present situation and the reasons of academic procrastination in rural junior school students, research the relationship among academic procrastination, time management disposition(TMD) and academic self-efficiency. The results are the following:(1) The self-made academic procrastination questionnaire in rural junior school students includes two parts:present situation questionnaire and the reasons questionnaire. The reasons questionnaire is formed with six areas. The two parts have high reliability and fair validity, and it can be used for the future research.(2) The results of the present situation of academic procrastination in rural junior school students show the following.①The present situation of academic procrastination in rural junior school students are at the medium level.②The tendency of academic procrastination is not very high on the different tasks in rural junior school students.③Boys are more easily delay the homework than girls.④Non-class cadres have more academic procrastination in the homework task.⑤here are significant differences between different grades in the self-made task.(3) The results of academic procrastination's reasons in rural junior school students show the following.①The academic procrastination of rural junior school students are mainly influenced by external appeal, perfectionism and self-esteem. There are significant differences between boys and girls in external appeal, adventure and perfectionism. The non-class cadres are more easily influenced by adventure.④Compared with grade 8 and 9 students, grade 7 students are more easily influenced by external appeal.(4) The results of relationship among academic procrastination, time management disposition and academic self-efficiency in rural junior school students show the following.①Academic procrastination has significant negative correlation with time management disposition, but only the time management disposition's total score and the sense of time control have significant negative prediction on academic procrastination.②Academic procrastination had significant negative correlation with academic self-efficiency, but only the total score, adaptation-efficiency and behavioral control efficiency have significant negative prediction on academic procrastination.③Time management disposition has mediating effects between academic procrastination and academic self-efficiency.
