With the rising of living standard, film, as a form of spiritual life, has entered people's daily life. As an essential part of the movie, the translation of movie titles becomes a primary task. The translation of the movie titles is an important part of the international culture communication. Now more and more scholars in translation pay close attention to this field. In many theories, Hans Warmer proposes the Skopos theory. It is the center theory of the functional translation theory. Skopos theory emphasizes the importance of the translator and the culture and it makes the translator find a good way to translate the titles of movies. In the first part, the theory describes the status of the English translation of movie titles and application of the theory and methods, and its significance. The second chapter introduces an overview of the Skopos theory, including the forming of it, the theoretical basis, its contribution and its principles. In addition, this chapter also describes the purpose of movie titles'translation. In the third chapter, it introduces the basic information of the movie and movie titles. The fourth chapter is the key part of the theory. It analyzes the factors that affect the meaning of movie titles and sum up the translation methods of it. In the last chapter, the theory lists and compares different translations of movie titles, including the different features and methods in different areas in China. At last, there is the conclusion of the theory. Skopos theory is meaningful for the movie titles'translation. It can guide the translator to do a good job to the translation of movie titles when the translators know the aim of translation.
