On Fuguan 'the Chinese Ideological View Of History

Xu Fuguan, as one of the three masters of the contemporary Neo-Confucianism ,is famous for his study on the history of Chinese thoughts. This paper begins with analyzing Xu Fuguan's methods of the history of Chinese thoughts, and in futher analyzes the deep clue and prupose of the history of Chinese thoughts, which is to explore his innovative way. His deep clue studying on the history of Chinese thoughts is to demonstrate sense of crisis at the souce of the Chinese culture and to identify the Chinese culuture of heart under his unique culture view, which goes through his study on the history of Chinese culture. The main purpose of his study on the history of Chinese thoughts is to find the solution for the western and China repectively from the angle of the contradict and intergration not only between the culture of benevolence and the culture of intellectuality, but also between the Confucian Political Thought and Western democracy, which is also a kind of pursuit to innovation.This paper aims to analyze Xu Fuguan's history of Chinese thoughts, illustrates his unique ideas about the history of Chinese thoughts, and gives a brief assessment to the history of Chinese thoughts in the process of drafting.
