| Poems, used to expressing emotion, whose main task is eliciting emotions, which have been the formal utility of poems for quite a long time. There have been various remarks about whether poems can be used for arguing and reasoning. Whether approval or disapproval, as a style of Chinese classic poems, rational poems have formed gradually through exercising for thousands of years and developed their own styles. The main task of Song poems is rational. Poets in Song Dynasty are accustomed to putting their own life experiences and their opinions about events into the poems. They express their perspectives by virtue of poems, which can be seen as a kind of inheritance and improvement for rational poems.Mei Raochen, as a poet at the early stage of Northern Song Dynasty, tries to expel the drawbacks of Xikunti and makes poems get back to the elegant tradition of poems. He melts arguments, narrates and ancient articles into poems creation and reflects the real life by smooth writing style. He plays an important role for the unique and special style of Song poems. Through the studying of Mei's rational poems, the characteristics of Song poems—words as poem, talent as poem, argument as poem—can be understood accurately, meanwhile, Mei's poems can be understood from another view.Based on the previous study of rational poems and Mei Raochen's poems, the thesis analyzes and illustrates the rational poems, which can be divided into four parts according to the classification of Mei's rational poems, the characteristics of rational poems, the cause of rational poems'forming and the later acceptance of Mei's rational poems. The thesis illustrates the classification and the forming of Mei's rational poems. Consequently, we have insight into Mei Raochen's rational poems. |
