The Research On Golden Section In Graphic Design

As an ancient topic, there is thousands of years'history after the discovery of golden ratio. After repeated demonstration and development in the flood of times, it plays an unforgettable and timeless role on the fields of painting, sculpture, engineering, music, management and other areas. This article will elaborate on the historical change and development for graphic design due to golden section. The rational thinking of both concordance and harmony for the golden ratio will be the same as the requirement of design aesthetics. This paper attempts to start from the definition of the golden section and development so that we could have a complete accurate concept of this segmentation topic. Moreover, we will also discuss a variety of modes developed from golden ratio of maternal. By using the thinking of geometry and mathematical model, this thesis rediscovers the representative design works in graphics design including the decryption of the password composition for western classical arts. In the following, we attempt to summarize them as formula-based rules after the analysis and comparison of eastern cultural symbols according to the concepts of the study of comparative. Finally, we will discover practical significance for golden section in current graphic design based on the golden section analysis for both the representative design works in Bauhaus period and modern design.
