During the Qing and Ming dynasty, the close relationship between Imperial Examination System and novels can be clearly seen for quite a few literary writers have involved in the novel creation, where there were content of Imperial Examination. This thesis focus on the duet realtions between Imperial Examination and novel writing. It can be divided into introduction, main body and conclusion. There are three chapters in the main body.Chapter One is about Imperial Examination and novelists in Ming and Qing Dynasty. So it can be conclued that Imperial Examination not only improved the number of the writers but also enhanced their literary taste and quality.Chapter Two is about the Imperial Examination and novel creation. For those writers who had the Imperial Examination experience, they established much closer relations between Imperial Examination and novels which impacted on each other. Novels in Ming and Qing dynasty had successfully explored a beatiful life picture with vivid description and sound. There were Imperial Examination chasers and critics. Some raised the problems and questions while others praised for that. So as a sort of culture, Imperial Examination has influenced the novel writing in Ming and Qing dynasty for it not only addded more content for literary creation, not also affected the sturcture and style of them.Chapter Three is about the reasons for close relations between Imperial Examination and novles in Ming and Qing dynasty. Imperial Examination have been deeply rooted in Novles in Ming and Qing dynasty. In a certain degree, it derived from the historical tradition that"excellent scholars will choose to be officals". It was also a vivid reflection of the age for Imperial Examination caused the lost of the elegent literature and stirred up the development of popular literature.
