Based On The Characteristics Of Han Lacquer Decoration Of Furniture Design

This paper summarized the main decorative features of Han dynasty lacquer ware by investigating the lacquer ware from MaWangDui Han Dynasy Tomb and studying the related literature:the decorative themes reflected the perfect combination of reality and art, the exquisite craftsmanship demonstrated the stunning decorative effect, the natural decorative patterns showed a smooth style and the red and black color matching highlighted the distinctive color features.Han dynasty lacquer decorative elements such as the red and black color matching and decorative pattens have been successfully used in the modern design of packaging, print and other fields.Some design cases showed that the decorative elements were used in many ways:the color form and the decorative patterns were directly applied, the decorative patterns were also reconstructed by the extraction, combination, simplification and deformation methods.There was not outstanding performace in the furniture decorated by Han dynasty lacquer decorative elements. This paper anylised the furniture decorated by lacquer elements from Dongguan Furniture Fair in spring of 2008.Cases showed that the decorative patterns played a role of embellishment, the decorative patterns changed into three-dimensional components of the furniture, and the red and black color were copied in the furniture.On the basis of the above research, this paper put forward an idea for furniture design based on Han dynasty lacquer ware features,that is to say, to choose Han dynasty lacquer decorative elements intentionally in the furniture design to reflect the integrated Han Dynasty spirit.On the guidance of the idea,this paper designed a geometric decoration lamp, coffee table etc. to heritage the Han dynasty culture by the furniture products.
