Description Of Buenos Aires As A Place For Learning Chinese Language And Culture, And An Analysis On The Current Situation Of Chinese Language Learning In Buenos Aires

In the last few years, the number of students learning Chinese language in Buenos Aires has been growing rapidly. It has been estimated that Chinese language might be, after English language, the second most sought after language in only 5 years from now. Buenos Aires is experiencing this global trend, spurred by the fact that China is becoming a worldwide economic superpower.This research delves into the topic of Chinese language learning in Buenos Aires. It is divided into 2 parts:In Part 1 there will be a thorough description of Buenos Aires as a place for studying Chinese language, giving the student a guide on the following items:·How to meet Chinese people·Where and how to come across Chinese culture·What teaching resources are available·What Chinese language institutions are there·How to participate in Chinese language and cultural events and competitions, and Language Proficiency Evaluations.In Part 2 there will be an analysis concerning different aspects of Chinese language learning from the point of view of the students and the teachers. The research hopes to give an answer to the following questions, among many others:·Who are the students of Chinese language? (background, motivations, environment for studying)·What difficulties do they face when learning Chinese language?·Who are the teachers? (origin, qualifications for teaching)·What is their employed teaching methodology?For purposes of this research, questionnaires were completed by both teachers and students. Because this information can be used in different ways by different entities (i.e. institutions, teachers, students), then the current thesis will not make a particular analysis on it, but present it as an invaluable source of information by itself, from where the entity can draw their own conclusions based on their own needs.
