Since the 20th century, language has become the focus of attention. The prominent of language and human being in living world has attracted the philosopher's attention. Post-modernist through the idea that"words more important than voice"get further highlights that the status of the language focused on the text. Thus, the text analysis is no longer the patent of literature, but as the only way for this ultimate goal from the philosophy of language to"reveal human being and the human world".The philosophy of language through language analysis to reveal the human being and their living world. Precisely, this subject through the language analysis and interpretation to reveal being and is of the human being and thire living world. And thus make language studies return to the mainstream of the development of Western humanism since the ancient Greek. The research shows that language is not just a tool in any sense, but also not associated with the occurrence of the external physical world, which is generated by literae humaniores symbols body circulate driven in the hermeneutics. The text service for the human living world and the author's consciousness world. Therefore, this study standing on the textual dimension of the philosophy of language, the main theoretical base of the study is Morris's modern theory of meanings. Through Morris's distinguish three levels of the symbol relation: Referential Meaning, Intralingual Meaning and Pragmatic Meaning to describe and analysis the language signs and textual world of Thomas Pynchon's representative postmodern novel The Crying of Lot 49. Trying to reveal human being and their living world through textual world constructed by postmodern novel. And also attempt to promote that from the entropy world to the code world is probably the way out of Western civilization in postmodern society. At present, literary criticism and stylistic analysis are two main means to analyze literary works. Most of the works are analyzed from the perspective of literary criticism, and more and more literary works are also analyzed by means of some linguistic theories and approaches. But a few people analyze postmodern novel by using semiotics and the philosophy of language. So, this study has an important study significance. On the one hand, the research standing on the textual dimension of the philosophy of language, which through the text to reveal the people and their living world and use symbol meaning to study postmodern novel. This study not only shows the strong force of semiotic significance in the postmodern fiction literary meaning, but also connect the inner world represented by the language signs to the outside world represented by human being's living. And also the proposed new perspective not only enrich the domestic research on the works of Pynchon, expand Morris's modern semiotics theory, but also the Fourth World, which also means the Code World bring the literary theory of the text up to the social and cultural level. Different from other critics, this thesis promote that though Pynchon borrowed entropy metaphor to the decline of western civilization, but Pynchon does not believe that the decline of civilization irreversible such as the second law of thermodynamics implies. Conservation of the universe is that from order to disorder, and then eventually reorder from disorder. The western world will bring out a new post-industrial society to an orderly world. However, the mysteries of get out of the entropy world perhaps in the language and symbols, which also means that the Code World is our living world now. The new order will be reestablished in the transition of the Code World. On the other hand, the study in line with the idea of interdisciplinary research to contributes to teaching of such courses as the philosophy of language, semiotics, linguistics, literature, stylistics. Students can better understand and evaluate the literary text through linguistic clues and evidences.
