Recently, corpus-based research has focused on the importance of recurring patterns of lexis by looking at natural language in large enough quantities. It makes the study of lexical behavior seemingly out of the question in the past, but actually out of question at present. The thesis is divided into five parts. A general description of the research background of this thesis will be given. It also tells us the objective and significance of the thesis. Finally, the organization of the thesis will be outlined. The data source used in the study, which refers to BEC is introduced in a comparatively detailed way, together with procedures for the collection of data which is the basis of our study.
