The application of corpus linguistics in translation studies emerged in 1990s. With the rapid development and popularization of computers, the advantages of corpus linguistics become more and more prominent. The introduction of the software R, which can program, makes the quantitative research of corpus linguistics more scientific, convenient and accurate. This is a translation report on Quantitative Corpus Linguistics with R. The translator chooses Chapter Four of this monograph, that is Using R in Corpus Linguistics, to translate. The original belongs to technical texts, whose language is characteristic of specialty, objectivity and precision. The original involves much professional knowledge of statistics, corpus linguistics and computer programming. Therefore, correct comprehension and expression become critical in determining the quality of translation. Under the guidance of Skopos theory, the translation follows its three basic rules:the skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule. According to the function of the target text and the skopos of the original, translation is achieved by different methods such as literal translation, conversion, free translation, etc. It is found that translation theories can guide translation practice. The understanding of theories is deepened in practice so that the quality of translation would be raised. Besides, sufficient background knowledge is significant to translation, especially to technical texts. Translators are required to further study the original text and apply various translation strategies in order to improve the readability of the translated version.
