Correlation Among Narcissistic Personality, Subjective Well-being And Self-forgiveness

Unlike what had ever been, the current theory of self-forgiveness has been reinterpreted in the framework of positive psychology. Self-forgiveness is studied in cognitive, emotional and behavioral perspectives. Explicit self-narcissist can benefit from their concentration, and they are also self-motivated in a long-term time span, while implicit self-narcissist are quite lack of self-confidence, linking with anxiety and depressed. On this basis, it stands to reason that explicit self-narcissist should be positively associated with self-forgiveness and SWB, and implicit self-narcissist would be inversely linked with self-forgiveness and SWB. The paper take college students as participants, utilizing revised Self-forgiveness Questionnaire for College Student, Narcissism Personality Questionnaire and Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire to exam the relationship between narcissism personality, self-forgiveness and subjective well-being. The results of research are as follows:(1)The revised Self-forgiveness Questionnaire of College Student has three dimensions: cognition, emotion and behavior, and each dimension had positive and negative direction, so there were six factors in total: positive cognition, negative cognition, positive emotion, negative emotion, positive behavior and negative behavior.(2)After making mistake, male are more easier to had negative cognition, emotion and behavior than female; non-only children had more negative emotion and behavior, while the only child were more easier to forgive themselves; the total self- forgiveness level of students of science has higher than that of students of arts.(3)The life satisfaction of female was remarkable higher than that of male, meanwhile, girls experienced more positive feeling than boys; among the scores of life satisfaction, the positive feeling score of the only child was remarkable higher than the non-only children; Compared with students of engineer, the life satisfaction of students of science was higher.(4)There had negative correlation between covert narcissism and total score of self-forgiveness and subjective well-being; there had positive correlation between overt narcissism and total score of self-forgiveness and subjective well-being; the total score of self-forgiveness has positive correlation with subjective well-being.(5)Self-forgiveness, including negative and positive forgiveness, played a role as medium between narcissism and subjective well-being.
